Talking, talking, talking!

This has been the most amazing week ever! Jordan and I have been amazed over and over again. Flynn has really joined the world of oral speech. He continues to amaze us with the words he is using and his ability to say and try new words. We have now entered a new phase of life and we are very excited about it. Here are just a few of his new words: please, more, all done, thank you, squish, fish, onion, finn (which really sounds more like IN for Flynn), bus, juice, no no, and my all time favorite "I know!". I am sure there are many more funny ones to come. And gone are the days (Jordan) of letting "naughty" words slip as everything is being repeated!

Yogurt please!

On Saturday morning a little before lunch I was in the kitchen with Flynn making a lemon poppyseed torte for dessert. Flynn was helping me in the kitchen like he always does (stirring, dumping, getting items out of the fridge for me, etc...) when I glanced down and saw him get a yogurt out of the fridge. I told him that I had to finish up and then he can have the yogurt for lunch. I turned around to finish what I was doing and the next thing I know Flynn has set the yogurt on the floor, removed the foil top and was walking to the garbage can in the pantry. He threw away the foil top, walked back to the yogurt sitting on the floor pausing ever so briefly to gather the spoon on the floor which I had given to him moments earlier to sample the lemon curd, and proceeded to place his bottom on the floor behind the yogurt and eat lunch right there on the floor. No Mommy needed!

I was completely amazed, overjoyed, and a little sad (he doesn't need me as much anymore) to see my little man being so self-sufficient!

Choo Choo

After waiting so patiently Flynn finally got his chance to ride on a choo choo train this past weekend. We hopped on the Empire train Friday evening for a quick weekend in MSP. Flynn was giddy from the get-go but an hour or so into the ride decided that he would fall asleep (there wasn't much to see anyway as it was pitch black outside). We spent the weekend visiting with Jonathan, Jenny and Cael. It was fun to see the boys playing together. Jonathan and Jenny took us to the Y where the boys had a blast in the warm pool. Finally, we hopped back on the train Sunday morning to ride home in the light of day. We enjoyed the amazing views from the lounge car and enjoyed a late breakfast in the dining car. Very cool! A little less than three hours of Flynn saying "choo choo" and we were home. We will definitely be riding the train again soon.

Fall Leaves

Flynn had a wonderful time yesterday playing in the leaves with his friends, Flint and Hudson. As you can see they enjoyed jumping into the pile and placing leaves on each other's heads. Flynn wasn't quite as excited about playing in the leaves as he was stomping on the leaves to hear the crinkle crinkle sound.
